This release makes changes in how you connect to various network-based services, and this guide will set out how you get your Atomos monitor-recorder connected.
From the top, the first step is getting the network connected, either Ethernet or Wi-Fi, and yes you can set up both at the same time. Follow the NDI Wi-Fi/Ethernet connecting guides here.
Connect
Tap on the 'Connect' menu to select the Atomos Connect mode menu page. You will now see three options:
1. Atomos Cloud Studio, 2. NDI | HX, 3. Off
The option that is green with an underline is selected, so if this is your first time using Connect this session, as shown above, it will be the 'Off' that is selected.
The Off setting is important because when the device is in RX, receiving mode the source menu is disabled until you turn the Connect mode 'Off', only then will you be able to select HDMI or SDI inputs.
Atomos Cloud Studio
Select Atomos Cloud Studio you will be presented with the connection screen as shown above. There are more details about Atomos Cloud Studio available here.
The Back button to return you to the Connect menu page.
NDI
Select NDI and you will be asked to confirm your choice. The device will take a few moments to configure your choice.
When you have confirmed NDI you will be given two options TX for transmit and RX for receive, tap on your choice and you will be asked to confirm. Again, the device will take a few moments to configure your choice.
NDI TX Configuration
Then the screen shows you the NDI TX configuration page, each part is described below.
Details of the Network, NDI | HX and Discovery Server are below.
Choosing between HD and Record or UHD and No Record
This switch gives you the choice of transmitting your NDI signal in HD resolution and making a recording of the transmission onto the installed SSD. The recording will be using the currently selected codec. Alternatively if transmitting UHD 4K you will not be able to record the transmission on the same device. If you need to record the output you could plug in another Atomos device capable of recording 4K.
NDI RX Configuration
If you selected RX then the above configuration menu appears.

Select Source
To choose the NDI source you want to connect to tap on the Select Source Button.
This will display a list of the available sources, either mDNS or via the discovery server.

You can also tap on [Other...] and enter the IP address of the source and if an acceptable source is available it will be connected.
