The tab for Color Matching
On this page, the CAST Desktop App will use AI to achieve a close match between two of your input sources. This works best when all the sources are in the same color space of REC.709 and why the INPUT COLOR SETUP can be important. Then you can choose one input source as the best and match all the other input sources to that best source.
Make sure the images show the same scene with viewpoints as close as possible for the best possible results we recommend prominently placing a color chart in the shot.
Follow these steps to achieve the best color match:
- Select your first ADJUST SOURCE using the pull-down menu in the left preview your source is displayed.
- Select your best input image source into the TO MATCH SOURCE using the pull-down menu in the right preview your source is displayed, you will then see the following message.
Notice the numbered points in both images, which are displayed in the image and also in the Vector or Waveform scopes below the image to indicate the color patches used to match the images.
If you are happy with this match then tap on the APPLY button.
Once the match is applied you can repeat the process with your other image sources.
However, if you would like to try to achieve a better match, you can select the comparison points manually, by tapping the mouse pointer on the color patches to match the two images. Choose color patches that are in both images and area of minimum or maximum luminance are zebra'd out of bounds, as this would not contribute to the color matching. If required mark the point(s) that should be identified as neutral or grey in the image by using the right mouse clicking on the appropriate location on the image and selecting neutral. You can also delete points using the right mouse click and choosing Delete on the menu. Then tap on the REFRESH PREVIEW button to run the matching process again.
To remove a color match, select the source on the left you want to remove the match from and tap on the REFRESH PREVIEW button, then on the right select 'None' and tap the APPLY button.
Once all the sources have been matched you can view the output on the PREVIEW ALL tab.
