Calibrating the Shinobi II is now easier than ever, as it can be done right on-device, without the need to connect it to a computer. However, the latest version of the Atomos Calibrator app for PC/Mac is still compatible with the Shinobi II if you prefer that workflow.
Before you initiate the calibration process, make sure to “warm up” your Shinobi II to its regular operating temperature, for a more accurate calibration result. For this, we advise to just leave the device running for ~10 minutes.
Once it has reached a normal operating temperature, you can plug in your X-Rite or Calibrite calibration probe into the Shinobi II’s USB-C port (depending on your calibration probe, a USB-A to USB-C adapter might be required), and begin the on-device calibration process by pressing the Calibration button in the Info menu. Follow the steps on screen and wait for the calibration to complete.
Note: To use the on-device calibration feature, the Shinobi II’s Control mode needs to be set to Calibration.
To calibrate your Shinobi II via the Atomos Calibrator app on PC/Mac, switch its Control mode to Off in the Input menu and follow the steps outlined in this article: https://www.atomos.com/calibration/
