Atomos devices work on an exFAT file system. For new drives and also to delete all files on existing drives, we recommend that you format each disk within the Atomos device and not your computer to ensure the correct parameters are set with the file system. Of course before using any drive, please check atomos.com/drives to confirm it is a tested and approved model.
Formatting your SSD or HDD is an easy process. Touching the Storage Capacity Indicator on the home screen will take you to the Media Menu.
This menu provides information on the drive currently inserted. If you do not see your hard drive information, there may be a problem with the connection or the drive. Try ejecting the drive and re-inserting.
To format the drive touch the Format Media button. A confirmation screen will give you the choice to continue or cancel the process.
