The AtomX CAST allows users to load up to 8 PNG graphics to its media slots. You can assign these PNG graphics to 7 anchor positions within the four layout presets.
To make the process of creating custom overlay graphics as simple as possible, we're providing another PSD template that can be used with Adobe Photoshop.
Base Template
Resolution: 1920 x 1080 px
The Base Template simulates the Full-Screen image of the Program Stream that the graphics will be applied to. It comes with individual layers containing the different anchor point locations and safe guides. This template can be used to dial in the sizes and the positioning of your custom overlay graphics.
Workflow Example 1 – Export without Margins
Drag and drop a PNG image onto the canvas of the Base Template file. Position and scale it until you're happy with the result.
Hide all layers except the scaled graphic you want to export, and use the Crop tool to resize the area to the size of the graphic.
Export the cropped graphic as a PNG via the Export menu. Make sure that Transparency is enabled and uncheck all color space transformation options.
After saving your custom graphic as a PNG, put it on your SSD and load it into your media pool via the Overlays menu.
Note: A graphic without margins will be placed flush with the edges of the frame if you assign it to any position but the center anchor point. This might be helpful if you need your graphics to sit flush with the edges, but to place them in a more visually pleasing spot in the frame, you need to export the PNG with a margin space.
Workflow Example 2 – Export with Margins
Drag and drop a PNG image onto the canvas of the Base Template file. Position and scale it until you're happy with the result. You can use the Safe Area layers in the template as a guide.
Hide all layers except the scaled graphic you want to export, and use the Crop tool to resize the area to the size of the graphic. This time, don't crop off the margins on the sides of the frame.
Export the cropped graphic as a PNG via the Export menu. Make sure that Transparency is enabled and uncheck all color space transformation options.
After saving your custom graphic with the included margins as a PNG, put it on your SSD and load it into your media pool via the Overlays menu. With this method, we only recommend assigning it to the anchor point that matches the position you chose in the template.
Example: A graphic with margins, tailored for the bottom right, wouldn't work well in the top left.
