Frame Grab
This feature allows you to capture lossless PNG frame grabs in the SHOGUN CONNECT’s native display resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) during recording and playback.
To capture a frame grab:
Whilst in recording or playback mode, tap the Frame Grab icon in the Monitoring Feature activation icons section at the bottom of the screen.
A tick will appear briefly inside the Frame Grab icon to indicate that a frame grab has been captured.
The captured PNG file will be saved to a Frame Grab folder on your recording media, which is automatically created when you capture your first frame grab.
Onion Skin
This feature allows you to layer frame grabs or other images on top of your video feed, whilst in the Record and Playback modes.
To load a frame grab or image as an onion skin:
Tap the Onion Skin icon in the Monitoring Feature activation icons section at the bottom of the screen.
The Onion Skin tab in the settings menu will open so that you can select the frame grab/image to be used. For more information on selecting the frame grab/image, refer to the To load a frame grab or image as an onion skin: section.
The frame grab/image will appear on screen with position and transparency options. Tap on the screen to view the onion skin overlay without the icon box, and tap again to bring the icons back. Tap the arrow at the bottom of the icons to return to the Monitoring screen.
Onion Skin position and transparency options
Tap the following icons to customize the position and transparency of the loaded frame grab/image:
High Transparency The loaded image will be highly transparent. The video feed from your source will be highly visible. | |
Medium Transparency A level of transparency that provides a balance between the low and high options. | |
Low Transparency The loaded image will be less transparent. The video feed from your source will be less visible. | |
50/50: Left Displays only the left half of the loaded frame grab/image over the top of the video feed from your source. | |
Full Positions the full width of the frame grab/image over the top of the video feed from your source. | |
50/50: Right Displays only the right half of the loaded frame grab/image over the top of the video feed from your source. | |
Return Return to the Monitoring screen. |
Onion Skin Ready
When a frame grab/image is loaded, the Onion Skin icon in the Monitoring Feature icon section will change to the icon below. Tap this icon to return to the onion skin view, which will display the last frame grab/image you used. Tap the arrow to return to the Monitoring screen.
To load a different frame grab/image, navigate to the To load a frame grab or image as an onion skin: in the settings menu and follow the same process as outlined above.
